Ped Xing

A long time ago, in ancient dynastic China, there was an emperor named Ped Xing. He was famed for his hastiness and hot temper, which served him well on the battlefield, but a time of peace was upon him and he had nothing to do. So it was court intrigue that did him in, you see, those that conspired against him poisoned a bottle of wine and told him at a state dinner that it was a new, untried wine from India, and they say no mortal man could ever imbibe it. Ped Xing hastily took a large drink just to prove them wrong. And so it was that he died. So tragic was this that even to this very day you see signs that say "Slow Ped Xing", to remind us all of the dangers of haste.
